I’m a History graduate who made the mistake of getting on the train after my Graduation ceremony instead of staying in Academia’s loving embrace forevermore, so I am forced to learn and educate by my own means. I hope to offer via this blog a combination of serious debate and enlightenment, commemoration of significant events and people, and the sort of musings and ideas that only seem important after a night of ale or several days awake.

I hope that this blog will be not so much of use but at least of interest to anyone who enjoys reading about military history, has ever gone to the IWM on their own, or has ever re-enacted the Battle of Waterloo using condiment packets and empty glasses at their local – you’re my kinda people. Especially if you ‘got’ the title…
